MAA “Cinemaa Awards” event a grand success The 6th MAA Cinemaa Awards event hosted in Hyderabad had all the glittering stars of the Tollywood and turned out to be a very bright event with rocking performances.


The glitzy event brought together the biggest names from the Telugu film Industry and graced by Dr. Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Srikanth and Anushka, new generation heroes Ram Charan, Vishnu, Rana and Taraka Ratna, film producers Allu Arvind, Shyamprasad Reddy, KS Rama Raoand Achi Reddy, Directors Raghavendra Rao, Krishna Reddy and Tammareddy Bhardwaja, Music directos M M Keeravani and Devi Sri Prasad.


Well Known comedy artist Ali and popular TV anchor Suma took the audience through an eventful evening with international standard set design, lighting and technical values. The theme of the event was “Love” and visually superior parodies of famous Telugu movies starring Suma and Ali were presented.


As part of the event, Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Gnanppeth Awardee Padmabhushan Dr. C Narayanareddy with citation read out by Dr. SP Balasubrahmanyam. Felicitating Dr. C Narayana Reddy on the occasion, Dr. Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Chiranjeevi recalled their pleasant experiences and long journey with the award winner.


While there are 25 Award categories, Magadheera won the most awards, including the Best Actor, Best Singer (Male and Female), Best Producer and Best Director. Ram Charan received ‘Best Actor’ Award. 12 heroines along with Nagarjuna presented the award to him. Anushka bagged the Best Heroine award for Arundhati movie. Naga Chaitanya walked away with the Best Debut Actor award for Josh.


MAA TV has adopted popularity voting method. To ensure the highest credibility, transparency and fairness to the awards, MAA TV has engaged the services of Grant Thornton, a leading international audit, tax and specialty advisory firm with presence in over 100 countries.


The SMS-based voting for the Awards commenced on 21st July 2010 and concluded on 15th August 2010 with huge response from the public.


Speaking on the occasion, Mr. N Prasad, the Chairman of MAA TV, said that Grant Thornton had handled the entire process of overseeing audience responses to finally arrive at the results. “It is a unique way of giving the awards in the history of Telugu Television Industry and with this kind of credibility, MAA Cinemaa Awards became highly respected for the Telugu film fraternity to celebrate the excellence”, Mr. Prasad added.


The Awards event will be telecast exclusively in MAA TV on 28th August (Saturday) at 7.00 PM.


As part of the Awards event, there was an impressive lineup of artistes and performers from all over India. “Prince Team”, came all the way from Orissa to perform their famous “Krishna” and “Dashavtar” acts. The International group “Quick Change group” gave an interesting and riveting that kept the audience engaged. The Acts and performances have never been done on Telugu Television before. Karthik mesmerized the audience with renditions of his famous Telugu songs. The final Act was an energetic performance by Rakhi Sawant.
